review õ Knigs Fire 104 They call him Nebuchadnezzar The Nazis have established a torture center in a mine at the heart of a Romanian forest Here they interrogate prisoners and sometimes throw them into the furnace at the heart of the mine Only now the primeval forest is rising against them unleashing a preternatural army to besiege the great iron gate of the mine The fearsome guards become terrifi ed prisoners and the furnace itself burns with hungry anger agai. I ve always said that a perfect book is one where someone hands it to me and says Read it it s good and I know absolutely nothing about it going in Why Because I like to be surprised So many books these days are clones of one another where you can see what s going to happen from page 1 and you read on mildly entertained but not really taken for a rideKonig s Fire is a book that will take you for a ride As first I hesitated to pick it up because it was a book about Nazi Germany But when I read the first few pages the book grabbed me and wouldn t let go And what a roller coaster ride I could not tell where this story was going Kudos to the author for creating a chillingly uniue read that was both clever and thought provoking Highly recommended for people who enjoy something a little or a lot different
